How it works
The calculator first works out material cost from filament weight and spool price. It estimates electricity use by multiplying printer power in kilowatts by print hours, then applies your energy tariff. Labour and machine allowances are added to form a base cost. The seasonal adjustment increases or decreases that base cost by your chosen percentage. Finally, the calculator divides by the expected successful-production share to allow for failures, then multiplies the result by quantity.

How do I estimate my printer's average power use?
A plug-in energy meter over a representative print is the most practical method. If you do not have one, use a cautious average estimate that includes the heated bed and hot end.
Does the break-even price include profit?
No. It shows the estimated production cost per item only. Add a suitable profit margin and any taxes, selling fees, shipping or design costs separately.
Should I include supports and purge waste in filament weight?
Yes. Include all filament expected to be consumed for the item, including supports, brims, rafts, purge material and typical waste.
