How is control traffic share calculated?
It is 100% minus the variant traffic share. A 60% variant allocation leaves 40% for the control.
What does expected variant lift mean?
It is the assumed relative percentage change in the variant download rate compared with the control rate.
Can I enter a negative expected lift?
Yes. A negative value models a projected variant decline and lowers the variant's estimated download rate.

How is the variant download rate calculated?
The control rate is multiplied by 1 plus expected lift divided by 100. A 5% control rate with 10% lift becomes 5.5%.
Why is the longest time used as the estimated duration?
The selected target must be met by both versions, so the test duration is set by the version that reaches it last.
How are estimated days calculated?
The monthly estimate is multiplied by 30.44, the average number of days in a month.
Can the control be slower even when the variant has a lower download rate?
Yes. A much smaller control traffic allocation can reduce its monthly download volume enough to make it slower.

Does this calculator show statistical significance?
No. It estimates time to a volume target only and does not calculate significance, confidence, power, or causal impact.
Why might actual test duration differ from the estimate?

Does reaching the target downloads mean the test is complete?
It means the selected volume goal has been reached. Whether to stop or interpret a test also depends on the experiment design and analysis approach.
