eBay Cost of Goods Sold Calculator
Estimate your eBay cost of goods sold, gross profit and gross margin based on unit cost, quantity sold and selling price.
Overview
Use this eBay Cost of Goods Sold Calculator to estimate the inventory cost attached to items you sold, along with gross profit and an estimated amount left after eBay fees. It is useful for reviewing a batch of sales using your unit cost, quantity sold, selling price and estimated fee rate.
How it works
The calculator multiplies your total per-unit cost by the quantity sold to estimate cost of goods sold. It also multiplies selling price by quantity sold to estimate revenue. Gross profit is revenue minus cost of goods sold, while the net figure subtracts both cost of goods sold and estimated eBay fees. Gross margin is gross profit divided by revenue, shown as a percentage.

Frequently asked questions
What does this calculator estimate?
It estimates your cost of goods sold for eBay sales, plus gross revenue, gross profit, estimated eBay fees and a net figure after those costs.

Cost of goods sold is the direct cost of the items you sold, usually based on purchase or production cost and the number of units sold.
Should I include packaging in cost of goods sold?
Many sellers track packaging or prep materials separately, but this calculator lets you include them as optional per-unit costs for a broader estimate.
Does this calculator include shipping and taxes?
No. It focuses on item cost, sales value and an estimated eBay fee percentage. Shipping, sales tax, refunds and overhead are not included.
How do I estimate my eBay fee rate?
Use your recent seller reports or order summaries to work out an average percentage of sales taken in fees, then enter that rate here.
