eBay International Shipping Calculator
Estimate the total international shipping cost for an eBay order using package weight, dimensions, destination zone, service rate and optional insurance.
Overview
This eBay International Shipping Calculator helps you estimate what it may cost to send an item overseas. Enter the packed weight, parcel dimensions, destination shipping rate, handling fee and any insurance rate to get a quick shipping estimate before you list or buy.
How it works
The calculator first works out volumetric weight from the parcel dimensions, then compares it with the actual package weight. The higher of the two becomes the billable weight. That billable weight is multiplied by your entered destination rate, then any handling fee and insurance cost are added to estimate the total shipping cost. It does not include import taxes, customs duties or extra carrier surcharges unless you include them in your own rate.
How to use this calculator
- 1Enter the packed parcel weight.
- 2Add the parcel length, width and height in centimetres.
- 3Enter the shipping rate per kilogram for the destination country or zone.
- 4Add any flat handling fee.
- 5Enter the item value and insurance rate if you want to include cover.
- 6Review the estimated total shipping cost and billable weight.

For a 1.2 kg parcel measuring 30 × 20 × 15 cm, the volumetric weight is 1.8 kg, so the billable weight is 1.8 kg. At 18 per kg, plus a 3 handling fee and 2% insurance on a 75 item value, the estimated shipping cost is 37.90.
Frequently asked questions
What does this calculator estimate?
It estimates the shipping portion of an eBay international order using parcel weight, dimensions, your entered rate, handling and optional insurance.
Why is billable weight different from actual weight?
Many carriers charge by whichever is higher: the real package weight or the dimensional, also called volumetric, weight.
Does this include customs duties or import tax?
No. Duties, VAT, GST and other import charges are not included unless you manually build them into your rate or handling fee.
What shipping rate should I enter?
Use the rate per kilogram from your chosen carrier, shipping table or broker for the destination country or zone you are sending to.
Can I use this for eBay listings?
Yes. Sellers can use it as a quick estimate when setting shipping charges, and buyers can use it to compare likely postage costs.
Does eBay always use the same international shipping pricing?
No. Costs can vary by seller, carrier, package size, destination, surcharges and whether a global shipping or forwarding service is used.
