How it works

The calculator reduces the loaded feedstock mass by the loss percentage to estimate saleable output. It multiplies saleable output by the declared nitrogen percentage to show kilograms of nitrogen. Total direct production cost equals loaded feedstock mass multiplied by its unit cost, plus other batch costs. Expected revenue equals saleable mass multiplied by the selling price. Gross profit is revenue less direct production cost, and gross margin expresses that profit as a percentage of revenue.

How is printing loss treated in the calculation?

The loss percentage is deducted from the feedstock mass loaded. Feedstock cost still applies to all loaded material, including waste and rejected output.

Does the calculator calculate NPK analysis?

It calculates kilograms of nitrogen from the percentage entered. It does not independently calculate phosphorus, potassium or other nutrients.

What costs should be included in other batch costs?

You can include direct labour, electricity, packaging, testing, consumables and similar costs that are specific to the production batch.

Is gross profit the same as net profit?

No. Gross profit here excludes costs not entered, such as general overheads, financing, taxes, distribution, sales commissions and returns.

Can I use this for a pilot run?
