What does kbps mean for video bitrate?

Kbps means kilobits per second. A larger bitrate generally transfers more data for the same viewing time.

Why can actual streamed data differ from this estimate?

Adaptive bitrate streaming may deliver different quality levels as network conditions, device capabilities, content complexity, and player settings change.

Should I use encoded bitrate or delivered bitrate?

Use the best estimate of the average bitrate actually delivered to viewers. A nominal encoding bitrate may overstate or understate real delivery when adaptive streaming is used.

Does the traffic split affect per-user data use?

No. The bitrate and watch time determine data use for an individual user in a given variant. The traffic split affects the total test volume and blended average across all participants.

Are GB values based on 1000 or 1024 units?
