eBay Marketplace Comparison Calculator
Compare estimated fees, payout and profit across eBay marketplaces using your item price, shipping charged, shipping cost and marketplace fee rates.
Overview
Use this eBay Marketplace Comparison Calculator to compare estimated fees, payout and profit between two eBay marketplaces. Enter your item price, shipping charged, shipping cost, item cost and the fee rate for each marketplace to see which option may leave you with more profit.
How it works
The calculator adds the item price and shipping charged to get the gross sale amount. It then applies each marketplace's fee rate to estimate selling fees, subtracts those fees to find the payout, and then subtracts your shipping cost and item cost to estimate profit. Profit margin is shown as profit divided by the gross sale amount.

- 2Add the shipping amount charged to the buyer.
- 3Enter your actual shipping cost and item cost.
- 4Type the names of the two marketplaces you want to compare.

Frequently asked questions
What does this calculator compare?
It compares the estimated fees, payout, profit and margin for two eBay marketplaces using the values you enter.
Which fees are included?
It includes the percentage-based final value fee rate you enter for each marketplace. It does not automatically include optional upgrades, subscription costs, taxes or dispute fees.
Why do I enter shipping charged and shipping cost separately?
Shipping charged increases the amount collected from the buyer, while shipping cost is your expense. Keeping them separate gives a more realistic profit estimate.
Can I use this for different eBay countries or categories?
Yes. Enter any marketplace names you want and use fee rates that match the country, category or seller setup you are comparing.
Does this calculator include taxes or VAT?
No. It is designed as a simple comparison tool and does not calculate VAT, sales tax or customs charges.
What if the fee structure has fixed fees too?
This version uses percentage fees only. If a marketplace also charges fixed per-order fees, your actual profit may be lower than the estimate.
