How to Read Your Results

Net profit shows the estimated dollars left after the included costs are subtracted.

Profit margin helps compare products with different prices by showing profit as a share of revenue.

ROAS shows ad efficiency, but it should be interpreted alongside profit margin and total profit.

Estimated orders may be fractional because the calculator is modeling averages rather than exact order counts.

Assumptions & Important Notes

  • Each example uses constant average values for click cost, conversion rate and sale price.
  • Only direct product cost, Etsy fee rate and ad spend are included.
  • Results are ad-driven estimates and do not separate repeat buyers or organic halo effects.
  • Small differences from real-world performance are normal because ad campaigns fluctuate daily.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some examples show decimal orders?

The calculator uses average conversion math, so projected orders can include fractions even though actual orders are whole numbers.

What should I focus on first: profit, margin or ROAS?

Start with net profit, then use margin and ROAS to understand efficiency and sustainability.

Can two campaigns have the same ROAS but different profit?

Yes. Different product costs, fee rates and prices can produce different profits even with the same ROAS.

Why does a higher click cost hurt results so quickly?

A higher cost per click reduces traffic for the same budget, which lowers orders unless conversion improves enough to offset it.

Can a high-priced product still lose money on Etsy ads?

Yes. If direct costs are high or conversion is weak, a higher sale price alone may not be enough.
