Sales Funnel Email Click Rate Calculator
Calculate your email click rate and related funnel metrics based on delivered emails, clicks and conversions.
Overview
The Sales Funnel Email Click Rate Calculator helps you measure how well an email campaign moves recipients from delivery to click and on to conversion. Enter emails sent, bounce rate, unique clicks, conversions and campaign cost to estimate click rate, conversion rates and basic cost efficiency.
How it works
The calculator first estimates delivered emails by removing bounced emails from total emails sent. It then calculates click rate as unique clicks divided by delivered emails. Next, it works out the conversion rate from clicks and from delivered emails, and if you enter a campaign cost, it estimates cost per click and cost per conversion by dividing cost by the relevant result count.
How to use this calculator
- 1Enter the total number of emails sent.
- 2Add the percentage of emails that bounced.
- 3Enter the number of unique clicks from the campaign.
- 4Enter how many conversions those clicks produced.
- 5Add your total campaign cost to estimate click and conversion costs.
- 6Review the click rate and related funnel metrics.
Example Calculation
Emails sent
10000
Bounce rate
2%
Unique clicks
350
Conversions
35
Campaign cost
$500
Email click rate
3.57%
With 10000 emails sent and a 2% bounce rate, about 9800 emails are delivered. If 350 recipients click, the email click rate is about 3.57%. If 35 conversions follow, the click-to-conversion rate is 10%, the cost per click is about 1.43, and the cost per conversion is about 14.29.
Frequently asked questions
What does this calculator estimate?
It estimates delivered emails, email click rate, click-to-conversion rate, conversion rate from delivered emails, cost per click and cost per conversion.
How is email click rate calculated?
Email click rate is calculated as unique clicks divided by delivered emails, multiplied by 100.
Why does the calculator use delivered emails instead of emails sent?
Using delivered emails removes bounced messages, which gives a clearer view of how recipients responded to emails that actually reached inboxes.
What is the difference between click rate and click-to-conversion rate?
Click rate measures how many delivered emails generated a click, while click-to-conversion rate measures how many clicks turned into the desired action.
Can I use total clicks instead of unique clicks?
You can, but unique clicks usually give a cleaner picture of how many individual recipients engaged rather than how many total link clicks occurred.
What should I include in campaign cost?
You can include email platform costs, creative costs, list rental costs or other campaign-specific expenses, as long as you use a consistent approach.
