Your Details

Overview

A sales funnel forecast calculator helps you estimate how many customers, how much revenue and how much profit you could generate from a given number of leads. Enter your lead volume, stage conversion rates, average deal value, marketing spend and sales cost per customer to see a simple funnel projection for the period you are planning.

How it works

The calculator moves your leads through two funnel stages. First, it estimates opportunities by applying the lead-to-opportunity conversion rate. Next, it estimates customers by applying the opportunity-to-customer conversion rate to those opportunities. Revenue is then calculated from estimated customers multiplied by average deal value. A simple profit estimate is calculated by subtracting marketing spend and direct sales cost from forecast revenue. ROI is shown as forecast profit divided by total cost.

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Enter the number of leads you expect for the period.
  2. 2Add your lead-to-opportunity conversion rate.
  3. 3Add your opportunity-to-customer conversion rate.
  4. 4Enter your average deal value.
  5. 5Include your marketing spend and sales cost per customer.
  6. 6Review the estimated customers, revenue, profit and ROI.

Example Calculation

Number of leads

1000

Lead to opportunity conversion rate

20%

Opportunity to customer conversion rate

25%

Average deal value

$5,000

Marketing spend

$10,000

Sales cost per customer

$500

Estimated customers

50

With 1000 leads, a 20% lead-to-opportunity rate and a 25% close rate, the funnel would forecast 50 customers. At an average deal value of 5000, that gives forecast revenue of 250000. With 10000 in marketing spend and 25000 in sales cost, the simple forecast profit would be 215000.

Frequently asked questions

What does this sales funnel forecast calculator estimate?

It estimates how many opportunities and customers your funnel may generate, along with forecast revenue, profit, cost per acquisition and ROI.

What period should I use for the inputs?

Use any consistent period such as a month, quarter or year. Just make sure your leads, spend and deal value all refer to that same period.

How do I calculate my conversion rates?

Divide the number reaching the next funnel stage by the number entering the current stage, then multiply by 100 to get a percentage.

Does this calculator include all business costs?

No. It only includes the marketing spend and direct sales cost per customer that you enter. It does not include overhead, salaries, tax or other indirect costs unless you build those into your inputs.

What is cost per acquisition in this calculator?

Cost per acquisition is the total forecast cost divided by the estimated number of customers, showing the average cost to win each customer.

Why might actual results differ from the forecast?

Real-world results can vary because of changing lead quality, sales team performance, pricing, seasonality, market demand and longer or shorter sales cycles.
