How is billable printing area calculated?

The calculator multiplies width by length and quantity, then adds the selected waste and spacing allowance.

What should I enter for part width and length?

Enter the widest and longest footprint dimensions of one part on the print bed in centimetres.

Why does the calculator require a quantity?

Quantity converts the footprint of one part into the base footprint for the full batch.

How is the setup fee applied?

The entered setup fee is added once after the area-based charge is calculated.

How is estimated price per part calculated?

The total estimated order price is divided by the number of parts.

Allowance and pricing questions

How allowance and rate choices affect the estimate.

What is a waste and spacing allowance?

It is a percentage added to the base footprint to allow for part gaps, supports, test pieces, brims, rafts, or expected waste.

Does the allowance apply before or after the area rate?

It increases the base footprint first. The area rate is then applied to the resulting billable area.

What rate should I enter per square centimetre?

Enter the area rate used by your internal model or commercial quote. The calculator does not supply a standard rate.

Can the rate be zero?

Yes. With a zero area rate, the estimated order price consists only of the entered setup fee.

Does the calculator include quantity discounts?

No. It uses one area rate for all billable square centimetres and does not apply tiered or negotiated discounts.
