Does a larger safety-stock percentage always increase printer days?
Yes. More safety stock increases the finished-unit target, required attempts and estimated printer days.
Does the calculator forecast demand?
No. It uses the annual demand and peak-season share you enter; those values are planning assumptions.
Can I model a peak season lasting one month?
Yes. In that case, average peak monthly demand equals the full peak-season demand.
Print failures and capacity

How should I calculate print success rate?
Use acceptable finished units divided by total print attempts for a comparable product, material and process, expressed as a percentage.
What belongs in daily printer capacity?
Use the combined average number of print attempts all available printers can complete in one day.
Why can printer days be a decimal?
A decimal represents part of a day at the stated average capacity, such as 12.5 printer days.
Should downtime be included in daily capacity?
Where possible, use a realistic average capacity that already reflects normal downtime. Major expected interruptions should be planned separately.

Not necessarily. Calendar duration depends on operating days, shifts, machine availability and the number of printers in use.
Does the result include cleaning and packing?
No. The production-days output is based on print attempts. Add time for post-processing, inspection, assembly and fulfillment when relevant.
What if the result exceeds available time?
The result signals a capacity gap under the entered assumptions. You can test different start dates, capacity, success rates or stock buffers as planning scenarios.
