How it works
The calculator first multiplies employee count by scheduled workdays to find total scheduled employee-days. Absence days divided by scheduled employee-days gives the absence rate. It converts both scheduled days and absence days into hours using the standard workday length, then subtracts absence hours from scheduled hours to find available capacity. Finally, productive hours are divided by available hours to calculate capacity utilisation.

What is the absence rate formula?
Absence rate equals total absence days divided by total scheduled employee-days, multiplied by 100. Total scheduled employee-days are the employee count multiplied by scheduled workdays per employee.
What is capacity utilisation in this calculator?
Capacity utilisation is productive hours divided by the hours available after absences. It shows how much remaining scheduled capacity was used for productive work.
What counts as an absence day?
Use the absence definition applied by your organisation, such as sickness, unauthorised absence or other leave categories. Apply the same definition consistently when comparing periods.
Should annual leave be included in absence days?
