Your Details

Overview

This ecommerce profit calculator helps you estimate how much profit you make per order and per month using your selling price, product cost, shipping and fulfillment cost, payment fees, advertising cost, and fixed monthly expenses. It is useful for checking product viability, pricing decisions, and break-even targets.

How it works

The calculator first works out the fee amount charged as a percentage of your selling price. It then adds your product cost, shipping cost, payment fees, and ad spend to get the total variable cost per order. Your net profit per order is your selling price minus those variable costs. Monthly profit is then estimated by multiplying revenue and costs by your monthly order count and subtracting fixed monthly costs. Profit margin is shown as profit per order divided by selling price.

How to use this calculator

  1. 1Enter your average selling price per order.
  2. 2Add your product cost and shipping or fulfillment cost for each order.
  3. 3Enter your payment or marketplace fee percentage.
  4. 4Add your average advertising cost per order.
  5. 5Enter your fixed monthly costs and expected monthly orders.
  6. 6Review your estimated profit per order, margin, monthly profit, and break-even orders.

Frequently asked questions

What does this ecommerce profit calculator estimate?

It estimates profit per order, profit margin, monthly net profit, monthly revenue, and the number of orders needed to break even.

Does this calculator include fixed monthly costs?

Yes. Fixed monthly costs are used to estimate your monthly net profit and break-even order count.

Should ad spend be entered as a monthly amount or per order?

This version uses average advertising cost per order, which is often easier for product-level profitability checks.

Are payment fees calculated as a flat fee or percentage?

This calculator applies payment and marketplace fees as a percentage of the selling price.

Does the calculator include taxes and refunds?

No. Taxes, refunds, returns, and chargebacks are not included unless you manually build them into your costs.

What if my profit per order is negative?

If your variable costs are higher than your selling price, your profit per order will be negative, which means selling more orders would not solve the problem without changing price or costs.
