Is the result a finished-part weight?

Not necessarily. It estimates consumed print material, including supports and the selected waste allowance.

Can I use the calculator for a batch of identical parts?

Estimate one job, then multiply the estimated material requirement by the number of parts, while considering batch-specific waste separately.

Does the calculator provide a production quote?

No. It estimates raw material only and does not include operating, labour or business costs.

Where can I get model volume?

CAD software and many slicers can report model volume. Enter the pre-infill geometric volume in cm³.

What is solid shell volume?

It is an estimate of how much of the model volume is occupied by solid walls, top layers and bottom layers.

Should I include rafts and brims as support volume?

Yes, if they consume the same priced material and are part of the planned job.

What does support material density mean?

It is the estimated filled fraction of the support geometry. A value below 100% reflects non-solid support structures.

What price should I enter?

Use a purchase price or internal material rate per kilogram that fits the purpose of the estimate.

How does the calculator account for infill?

It treats the shell share as solid and applies the infill percentage only to the model volume remaining after shells.

How is material density used?

Density in g/cm³ is multiplied by estimated material volume in cm³ to produce grams.

How is the waste allowance applied?

The calculator multiplies net print weight by one plus the waste percentage.

Why is the cost calculated in kilograms?

Material price is entered per kilogram, so total grams are divided by 1,000 before the price is applied.
