What is full spool filament weight?

It is the net filament weight when new, excluding the plastic or cardboard spool.

Weigh the spool, subtract the empty spool weight, and divide the remaining filament by the original net filament weight.

Can I enter a zero percent remaining amount?

Yes, but a zero value contributes no usable filament to the estimate.

Can I combine different spool sizes?

Should supports be included in filament per print?

What does the waste and failure allowance cover?

It can represent expected additional filament for purging, tests, handling losses, supports not included in the slicer estimate, and failed prints.

What allowance should I choose?

The suitable allowance depends on your workflow. Routine, well-tested jobs may need less allowance than prototypes, multi-color work, or failure-prone prints.

Why does a higher allowance reduce prints possible?

It increases the material reserved for each print, so the available inventory covers fewer complete jobs.

Results and accuracy

How to interpret results and their limits.

Why are complete prints rounded down?

The result shows only full prints that the estimated material can support. It does not count a partial final print.

Does material cost include electricity?

No. The cost output estimates filament only and excludes power, labor, shipping, maintenance, and printer wear.

Why might actual filament use differ from the result?

Actual use can change with printer calibration, purge behavior, failed prints, altered slicer settings, and filament condition.

Can leftover filament always be used for another job?

Not necessarily. It may be insufficient for the next print or impractical if a spool change is not possible.
