What does active monitoring mean?

It means time when a person must actively check, adjust or supervise the printer. It is not the same as total unattended printer runtime.

What should post-processing include?

Include work such as part removal, support cleanup, washing, curing, sanding, assembly, inspection and packing when those tasks apply.

Why is setup applied once?

The calculator assumes one shared setup for the run. If separate plates or machines need separate preparation, add that extra setup time before calculating.

How accurate is a 3D printing labour estimate?

It is an estimate based on the values entered. Actual time can differ because of part geometry, operator workflow, print failures and finishing requirements.

Should I include failed prints?

Can different parts use different post-processing times?

For mixed jobs, calculate part groups separately or use a carefully chosen average finishing time per part.

Does a higher hourly rate change the labour hours?

Why does cost per part decline with batch size?

One-off setup time is spread across more items, although finishing labour still rises with every part.

Should labour cost equal my selling price?

No. Labour cost is only one component of a price. A complete price may also need materials, machine costs, overhead, waste and a business margin.
