Should I include machine setup in labour hours per job?

Include setup if it requires employee time and is part of the work you want to cost. The same applies to finishing, inspection and packing.

Should unattended print time be included?

Usually not, unless an employee must actively attend the printer during that time. The calculator is designed for labour time rather than machine runtime.

What are productive hours per employee per month?

They are the labour hours assumed to be available for the production work being planned. This may be lower than total paid or scheduled hours.

How does the peak demand multiplier work?

It sets peak-month jobs relative to an off-peak month. A multiplier of 1.5 means a peak month is estimated to have 50% more jobs than a normal month.

Why are off-peak monthly jobs lower when I increase the peak multiplier?

The calculator holds total annual jobs constant. More work assigned to peak months leaves fewer jobs to allocate to the normal months.

What does peak FTE mean?

Peak FTE is peak-month labour hours divided by productive hours per employee per month. It expresses workload as a full-time-equivalent capacity amount.

Does peak FTE include overtime or absence coverage?

No. It is based only on the productive monthly hours you enter. Adjust your input or assess additional contingencies separately if those factors are relevant.

What is included in the loaded hourly labour cost?

It includes the base hourly wage plus the payroll burden and benefits percentage entered in the calculator.

What can payroll burden include?

Why might actual labour cost differ from the estimate?

Does the result include contractor or temporary labour rates?
